What our customers say...

  1. Travelsphere created a holiday packed…

Travelsphere created a holiday packed full of interest. We stayed at comfortable hotels at a reasonable price. We were a bit worried about the security situation in South Africa which is why we chose a coach tour. Our dedicated tour manager kept us safe by explaining what activities would be ok and what would put us at risk. The natural beauty and range of wild animals was amazing.

  2. Travelsphere ~ 10 out of 10

    Fabulous holiday, very full on

Our 2nd tour with Travelsphere and we were not disappointed. Ultimate South Africa is a very "full on" trip with very early starts, long drives (sometimes with limited stops, max 2.5 to 3 hours between toilet stops) but the rewards and scenery are spectacular. Our Tour Director, Sharwaaz Hussan was great, informative, helpful, knowledgeable on the history of the places we visited but also pleasant and good fun. This tour is not for the faint hearted and requires some level of fitness. Hotels we stayed at varied but were all comfortable and clean. Highlights of this tour for us were Table Mountain in Cape Town and the Ndhula Lodge/Mulawa Lodge and the safaris in the Kruger National Park (we saw way more than the big 5). Can highly recommend this tour. Good chance we will book another tour with Travelsphere at some point in the future.

  3. I travelled to Africa [Safari] on this…

I travelled to Africa [Safari] on this occasion , having previously been to India with Travelsphere and once again the entire experience was excellent. Quality accommodation, wonderful itinerary , amazing scenery , knowledgeable staff throughout, especially the direct team members who travelled with us for their guidance and care. Absolutely faultless and I would not hesitate to take more holidays with them and I really can recommend them to you.

Frequently Asked Question about guided holidays in South Africa

What is the best tour to see South Africa?

Our Ultimate South Africa tour will tick all the boxes - travelling from Cape Town in the south-west up to Kruger National Park in the north east of this epic country.

What are the highlights of South Africa?

South Africa has been described as the must-see travellers dream - with it's abundant wildlife (South Africa is home to the Big 5 plus whales and many other endangered species) and mountains and waterfalls, architecture, plus a host of natural treasures....... there'll be no shortage of breath-taking moments when touring around South Africa.

What's the food & drink like in South Africa?

Dry curing has been used for centuries in South Africa and is still very popular today - as used in both Biltong (a thinly sliced, air-dried meat) and Droewors (an air-dried sausage).

Boerewors is a famous traditional South Africa sausage - made from beef often mixed with pork and various spices and coiled in a similar style to the Cumberland sausage.

If you like spices, try a Cape Malay Curry - packed full of sweet and pungent spices including cloves, cardamon, fennel, mustard, coriander, turmeric, fenugreek, a little chilli and black pepper .

And let's not forget the wine! South Africa's "winelands," as they're known, are among the most beautiful wine-producing regions in the world, and you can sample for yourself when you visit the Winelands of the Western Cape of the Travelsphere tour.

What's the climate in South Africa?

South Africa experiences a high degree of sunshine - with the overall climate ranging from desert and semi-desert in the northwest to subtropical on the eastern coast.

What should I pack for a guided holiday to South Africa?

We recommend you bring walking boots or comfortable shoes to enable you to enjoy your destination to its fullest.

If there was ever a time to bring binoculars on a trip, it’s now! Who knows what animal might be around the corner!!

We would also recommend you bring lightweight clothing and something warm for the evenings - as it can be cold in some parts of the country. Its always good to have layers for these occasions.
